In 2002 it was called: Goodbye D-Mark, Lira, and Franc. 

Since then, Europeans have been paying with Euro Currency. The single currency brought negative interest rates and turbulent times for the export industry to Switzerland.

THE BEGINNING

Used as book money since 1999, the Euro was introduced as cash on 1.1.2002. Politically, it was considered a symbol of unity. Economically, trade, travel, and price comparisons have become easier.

The currency symbol for the Euro is inspired by the letter epsilon in the Greek alphabet. The European currency initially enjoyed little confidence in the twelve countries. He was called Teuro in Germany, for example. an allusion to the fact that he made everything expensive. In part that has also become a reality.
