Bürgenstock Hotel and Spa
The choice of the hotel of the year did not cause any headaches for the “Gault Millau” this year. The jury meeting was short-lived, said the renowned tour guide on Monday. The Bürgenstock resort was quickly chosen as the winner because it has “international class, charisma, and very authentic restaurants”.
Four of the resort’s restaurants
have been added to the “Gault Millau” guide: Bertrand Charles, head chef at the RitzCoffier, received 16 points. Chatsorn Pratoomma, who heads the “Spices Kitchen & Terrace” specialized in Asian cuisine, was awarded 15 points. Andreas Hasenloh at the hearth of the “Oak Grill & Pool Patio” achieved 14 points, Firas El-Borji as head of the “Sharq Oriental Restaurant” 13 points.
Not only the kitchen but also the rest of the hotel convinced the testers in Bürgenstock. The rooms of the five-star superior Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa are praised up to 678 square meters, equipped with a fireplace and lake view from the bathtub. A “masterpiece of loving restoration” is also 1903 built four-star superior Palace Hotel & Conferences, it says in the message. For 2018, the Gault Millau had named the Kulm Hotel in St. Moritz GR Hotel of the Year. In 2017 it was The Chedi in Andermatt UR, the year before The Dolder Grand in Zurich.
